2 DAYS: LAKE 69 LIGHT TREK
This trek is a spectacular ascent to an intensely beautiful turquoise lake on the base of Chacraraju (6112 m.a.s.l.) and Pisco (5800 m.a.s.l.). During the trip, there will learn about Campo Santo, where Yungay was, a city that literally disappeared under an avalanche in 1970. Then we will pass the extraordinary Llanganuco Valley, surrounded by Huandoy, Huascaran, Chacraraju, Chopicalqui, Yanapaccha and Pisco Peaks. We can stop and appreciate the extraordinary glacier lakes at the base of the mighty Huascaran, the highest tropical mountain in the world! This route is excellent for beginners in trekking and acclimatization.

Day 01 HUARAZ – PORTACHUELO PASS – CEBOLLAPAMPA (campsite at 3800 m.)
Pick up from your hotel at 7:00 a.m. and drive towards the north of the Callejon de Huaylas. After 45 minutes we arrive in reconstructed town of Yungay where we begin the scenically remote road toward Llanganuco Valley. After a 1 hour drive, we pass the entrance of Huascaran National Park, where we make a short stop. We continue towards Portachuelo de Llanganuco Pass (4767 m.), arriving within 45 minutes and start our hike down towards the campsite, our staff stops at Cebollapampa to set on camp on the way. The way down to the campsite takes 2 to 3 hours, stopping occasionally for refreshments. On arrival to the campsite, a small snack is waiting for us in the dining tent. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to rest or to explore the area around the campsite which includes an amazingly beautiful and rare aquenoal forest. Dinner and overnight at campsite. Day 02 CEBOLLAPAMPA – LAKE 69 – YUNGAY – HUARAZ (3800 – 4,500 m.)
After breakfast and very early in the morning we start our ascent to the Lake 69 (4,500 m.) through a stunning landscape of rivers, waterfalls and mountains. The duration of the trek depends on the physical shape of the participants, between 3 to 6 hours to go up to the lake. On arrival, we will have time to lunch, take pictures and rest a bit. We then return to Cebollapampa within 1 ½ – 2 ½, hrs, where the transportation is waiting to take us back to Huaraz. On the way back there is a stop in Yungay Saint Field. Arrival in Huaraz and transfer to hotel. (Breakfast – Box Lunch). End of service
